our people
Mike Carriero
“Anything is possible, the impossible just takes longer.”
backstory
I was raised in a construction family with my father and uncle having worked at Tishman Construction for most of their careers. I naturally gravitated towards the business and started working local construction jobs in high school. Enjoying the work, I pursued an internship at Tishman, where I was fortunate enough to stay for the next 20 years.
I grew within the company, wearing many hats in the construction process for a wide range of commercial developments. Most notably, I helped bring a few of our core hospitality assets to life, including the Westin Times Square and Intercontinental Times Square.
Well into my tenure at Tishman, I took a unique opportunity to oversee the regional expansion of a construction management firm into the Central Florida market. It felt like the right time for a new experience and an opportunity to apply all that I had learned at Tishman towards new challenges.
Several years later, an opportunity to rejoin Tishman came across my desk. While the business had evolved, having shifted away from construction to hotels, I knew its DNA was still the same. Smart, ambitious people make up this company and maintain its distinctive, entrepreneurial culture. I am excited to be back, working with familiar faces to solve new and challenging problems.
